Use <app>Onboard</app> with the <app>LightDM</app> display manager
Onboard works out of the box with the LightDM display manager in conjunction of the Unity-Greeter on a default Ubuntu installation.
The user only has to start the on-screen keyboard by using the appropriate menu in the accessibility indicator of the Unity-Greeter.
